My Story

Hi! My name is George Hyde and I'm a content creator! I've been creating digital media for a very long time with this tracing back to my childhood when I would abuse the family's Sony Video8 recorder and edit my own short films and stop-motion animations, by dubbing to footage to the old VHS in the lounge room. It was normal for you to catch me on on an early Saturday morning, creating video mix-tapes of the Top 50 on Rage.  I'd also write music parodies and I'd perform live vocal overdubs to an instrumental track, mastered down to a cassette tape! Analog...those were the days! I'm so glad I got to grow up and experience the backend of the analog era. It makes me appreciate the creative tools we have at our disposal in the creative space, today. It's brought creativity to the masses.

I studied a Bachelor of Communication, at The University of Newcastle, graduating in 2003. My area of expertise is in photography, sound production, videography and web design/development.. I spent 18 years as a tech at the Uni supporting education for student creatives in their pursuit of a career in the Creative Industries. I was and still am, a bit of a tech guru!

I'm based in Newcastle and have been a local for 40 years. I'm a sport lover and love my Cricket and the NRL. I love being active and you can find me in my spare time down at Redhead Beach (my happy place).
